TAKE ACTION: Say No to LNG in Southern Oregon!

Southern Oregon faces a new, dangerous project that will send fossil fuels from Russia, the Middle East and Indonesia into California. The Jordan Cove LNG import terminal and 230-mile California pipeline is coming to a head, and we need your help more than ever.

This project will:

  • Be responsible for tens of millions of greenhouse gases per year.
  • Put 1,438 residences, 49 businesses, six churches and two schools at risk from a catastrophic fire and explosion
  • Include a gas pipeline that will cross 379 Oregon waterways that are key for fish, including salmon.
  • During operation of the LNG terminal, fishing and recreational boats would have to keep outside the safety and security zone, harming the region’s fishing and tourism industries.
  • Be millions of dollars invested in the wrong direction for both Oregon and California.

For all that we love about our region and our communities, we must stand up and say NO to this project. It’s hazardous, it’s a job killer, and it destroys our environment—all so a multi-national energy corporation can make billions of dollars by shipping foreign fossil fuels to California. We need you to show up to the last open public meetings on the project —at one of the following locations:

Monday, October 27th—North Bend Community Center; Rally in front at 5:30 PM; Meeting starts at 6:30pm

Tuesday, October 28th—Umpqua Community College, Campus Dining Room; Meeting starts at 6:30pm

Wednesday, October 29th—Medford Red Lion Inn, Rogue River Ballroom; Meeting starts at 6:30pm

Thursday, October 30th—Oregon Institute of Technology, College Union Auditorium, Klamath Falls; Meeting starts at 6:30pm

Please come wearing “No LNG” buttons if you have them, and if you have signs, please bring them. Please register at our information table, and we will give you talking points if you would like to make a public comment.

The future of Southern Oregon is at stake! Please come to these meetings!
